Spring is in the Air

There’s nothing fussy or stuffy here. Fox Run Preserve is all about the relationship of people to the land. It’s about the luxury of peace and quiet. Priceless views.

And investing in places where families can thrive, explore nature and discover each other.
Fox Run Preserve offers all the quality of a Biltmore Farms Community with a focus on the beautiful natural surroundings of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Amenities of traditional country club communities such as golf and tennis, and the fees that go with them, are not the focus here; although there are plenty of options such as these to be enjoyed outside the gate. With only 44 home sites in a sanctuary-like setting, the private, gated community offers a variety of lush green spaces to enjoy, from open meadows and gardens to a mature mountain forest. Greet friends along woodland trails or picnic beside the sparkling pond. Skyview Park at the mountaintop invites you to roast marshmallows at the open fire pit and lose yourself in a ceiling of stars.
Fox Run Preserve is located just ten minutes from historic downtown Hendersonville, NC, recently recognized by USA Today as the number one selection of “Five Great (Unknown) Places to Retire.” Once you visit this quaint town, you will understand why. It is the perfect mix of authentic mountain ambiance, cultural opportunity, and friendly, laid-back personalities. It also offers easy access to airports, interstate, health care, shopping — all the essentials and pleasures of life.
The nearby Village of Flat Rock is home to the Flat Rock Playhouse, the state theater of North Carolina, along with numerous cafes, shops and “Connemara,” the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site (if you visit, don’t miss a visit to the goat farm).

A Legacy of Quality.

Fox Run Preserve is a Biltmore Farms Community. The Biltmore Farms legacy of community building began in 1897, when the company was founded by George W. Vanderbilt. By remaining true to his values of sustainability and the betterment of the local community, the company has evolved into one of Western North Carolina’s most prominent real estate development firms. Biltmore Farms Homes focuses attention on customer service, structural integrity, fine craftsmanship, lasting quality and environmental sensitivity. You’ll find all these important values hold true at Fox Run Preserve.

What’s new at Fox Run Preserve?

The Pinnacle Arts & Crafts model home built by Biltmore Farms Homes offers comfortable one-level living and high-end finishes.

The Biltmore Farms Homes Cottage Collection at Fox Run Preserve offers the same quality and high-end finishes you would expect to find at luxury communities such as Biltmore Lake and Biltmore Park. Hardwood floors, granite counters, stainless steel appliances and easy maintenance exteriors are just a few.
The popular smaller footprints of these homes, which range from 1,400 to 4,400 square feet, are open and airy, with plenty of room to gather with family and friends.
Building here can be a turnkey process, making it simple to oversee the process remotely. Just pick out your finishes, and your dream home is complete. And right now Fox Run Preserve is currently offering home site/home packages that are definitely worth investigating. Homes in the Cottage Collection begin in the mid $300s.

Meet Nancy and Roger Matthews. After working and living all over the world, they know they made the right choice with Fox Run Preserve.

Nancy and Roger have been married for 44 years. But what is even more impressive is that they have known each other since the third grade in Pisgah, Iowa. Pisgah is in the beautiful Loess Hills of west-central Iowa, so their love of high vistas, hiking and camping began in childhood.
Through Roger’s tour of duty with the Army and later with his business in exterior facades for high-rise buildings, the Matthews lived in Washington, DC, Germany, and France among other places. Once their two sons came along, they raised them in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
Later, living in Ohio, Nancy was exploring “perfect places to retire” and discovered all the attributes of Western North Carolina — one of the few places in the world they had never been. They had assumed that in retirement they would live somewhere west in the Rockies with their love of mountain living. But with one visit to the Asheville, Brevard, Hendersonville area, they fell in love. After carefully examining options and even renting property for a year, the Matthews settled in at Fox Run Preserve.
Why Fox Run? They prefer the natural amenities —trails, ponds, gathering spots such as fire pits — versus amenities they would rarely use such as golf, tennis, swimming and club facilities. The stability of Biltmore Farms along with Fox Run Preserve’s strong balance sheet, reassured them that this community would continue to be maintained properly and with the level of quality they expected.
The convenience of Hendersonville (and yes, it’s charm) was important. Medical services, shopping, community services and dining are within easy reach. And they thoroughly enjoy the many festivals, art shows, summer music performances, the quality of the restaurants, theaters and entertainment year-round.
But most of all, they love the spectacular views from their home and the quiet, peaceful and friendly ambiance of the community. Says Nancy, “We say it all the time, ‘We made the right choice.’ We intend to live here the rest of our lives…and we are very picky!” They have happily recommended Fox Run Preserve to friends and look forward to meeting new friends along the trails.
