Meet Penny and Don Neault from Virginia. They searched most of the east coast for the perfect golf/equestrian community and chose the one that felt like “home.”
Penny and Don had their eye on Bright’s Creek for a while. They were familiar with the Western North Carolina lifestyle — the beauty of the area, the desirable climate and the access to the art and culture of the Asheville area. They currently own a farm in Virginia, where Penny has five horses, and they have owned a vacation home in Florida, but they are looking forward to downsizing and making a permanent home for enjoying their future retirement.
Don is retiring from Cisco Systems and Penny has a graphics design/embroidery business. Don’s passions are golf and tennis and the quality of the Fazio course was a perfect draw for him. Penny was looking for an equestrian facility that would allow her to continue her pursuit of dressage and hunter-jumper events. After thoroughly examining all the options north and south, they found that Bright’s Creek fit the bill. The atmosphere appealed to them right away and they knew they would be comfortable.
The quality of the equestrian facility and the commitment to both horse and rider were key to Penny. She knows she will find many kindred spirits within the community and in the Tryon area. “It just felt like home,” said Penny. Don and Penny are looking forward to a visit from Virginia in May to get to know the area and their neighbors better and to plan their Bright’s Creek future.
