Reflecting the deep colors of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Lake James is the first in North Carolina’s Catawba chain of lakes, offering 150 miles of shoreline and more than 6,800 surface acres begging for exploration.
The land that embraces the lake is thick with trees, graced by gently winding hills and defined by an amazing collection of state and national parks, including Pisgah National Forest and the Linville Gorge Wilderness. A long-standing commitment to lake, land and wildlife stewardship infuses the region’s character.
It is with respect for this tradition and for the natural splendor of the environment here that Crescent has established our communities 1780, Old Wildlife Club and North Peak and our lakeside adventure center, Camp Lake James. Our current communities offer homesites ranging from just under an acre to more than 21 acres. Each features incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains over the water and an incredible array natural and community amenities.
We invite you to experience the lake yourself — for the day or in one of our rental cabins. Your visit will stay with you long after you return home.
