Recognized as the ultimate outdoor adventure destination in the Southeast by travel journalists, Boone was selected for the dozens of opportunities for adventure including hiking, running, biking, backpacking and camping (they haven’t even mentioned skiing yet!).

Home to Appalachian State University, Southern Living has also selected the town of Boone as a must see, calling it “a little bit country, a little bit collegiate, and a lot of cute.” The authenticity, quality of life, impressive accommodations and great food were all recognized.
